This CD kicks! - I m in the marching band at my Oklahoma high school and this is the music that we marched to this year. We had so much fun because this music is really interesting and a ton of fun to listen to! It s very pretty and really lets your imagination flow. You can just imagine the scenes in the book so much easier with musical accompaniment. I STRONGLY reccommend this CD to everyone because it will make you smile.
An excellent Interpretation of LOTR Plot Componants - I walked into this CD with a mistaken impression. I thought it would be something like an alternative soundtrack. It isn t. This CD is a musical description of various parts of the story of Lord of the Rings. To clarify, this isn t a CD that you would necessarily play while reading the book to enhance the atmosphere. This is a CD that you would listen to to expand your understanding of, for instance, the character of Gandalf.I personally felt that all the included pieces are excellent. The music is soaring at times, reflective at others. It is easy to imagine the settings and characters while listening to the respective pieces. The London Symphony Orchestra is, as can be expected, wonderous to hear.All in all I would recommend this CD to anybody who enjoys symphony music. I would also recommend this CD to any Tolkien fans.
